Doomsday Clock #12, the culmination of a series that began in late 2017 and was meant to run through one year of monthly publication, finally comes to an end. Mercifully. Doomsday Clock was meant to intermingle and embed the Watchmen series of characters in to the DC Universe proper – an artistic, corporate and moral decision that was always up for debate.

A long wait in-between issues put the brakes on story-line momentum, although there were always enjoyable aspects. But tick-tocking in the background was always the sound of creator rights played against big business bottom line.
