Every October, Biff Bam Pop! celebrates the darkest, scariest and funnest (if that’s a word) with 31 Days of Horror! It’s an umbrella title given to all the posts during the month, posts that carry with them the emotion and psychological raison d’etra of the season. My weekly comic-book-highlight The Wednesday Run column is no different.

It’s a compelling alchemy: the man-made horror of Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now mixed with the cosmic terror of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos. We get that longed-for dread via comic book publisher Dark Horse Comics and The Whispering Dark #1.
